Keeping eyes open for opportunity
A key factor in current and future growth, and an important part of our
international business strategy, is keeping our eyes open for new and
emerging markets.
Opportunity may appear in a country where juice consumption
is already high, or in an emerging market with the potential for growth.
We are always on alert, and we review new opportunities carefully because
we cultivate long-term relationships with distributors and consumers.
It takes a serious commitment to build a strong market and a valuable
product offering.
Our recent co-packing agreement with Great Lakes in Hong Kong is a good example of this commitment. With cross department support from our Research and Development, Quality Assurance, and Marketing Research teams, Welch’s recently sought a partner to produce and distribute a variety of products meeting the needs of consumers throughout Hong Kong. This partner also had to satisfy Welch’s high QA standards and quality requirements. Great Lakes was a perfect match for Welch’s with each company sharing a commitment to delicious and nutritious juice products and brands built on family, trust and quality.

We will continue to build our brand in Hong Kong. Today, Welch's is the top U.S. Juice Brand there, and the region is one of our strongest international markets. That 25 years of experience becomes a model for developing business in other regions, like the Philippines and elsewhere. |
