Our food scientists are experts in many different product forms including:

• 100% Juices and Juice Beverages in Shelf Stable, Refrigerated, Aseptic and Frozen forms

• Fruit based products including Jams, Jellies, and Spreads

• Fruit flavored Carbonated Beverages

     

Our products are formulated to meet consumers' tastes in our state-of-the-art product development plant.  Each products' stability is tested to ensure quality is maintained throughout its shelf life.


Calpis Company of Japan

Welch’s and Calpis Company of Japan work together on all new product introductions, sharing insights on formulation, processing and market research activities. This cooperation has allowed us to consistently introduce an average of three or more new products each year in the dynamic Japanese market. 

Semi-annual meetings between our companies yield long-range plans, updates on competitive/market place activities and the development of new product ideas. Key marketing and Research and Development (R&D) personnel have also come to the United States for training with Welch’s. Because of Japan's dynamic, fast-changing retail environment, the life cycle of convenience store products can be relatively short.

Gerber Foods Ltd. of the United Kingdom

Together with our partner, Gerber Foods, we have recently introduced a line of seven products in the United Kingdom (U.K). These include three refrigerated and four aseptically packaged shelf stable products. The juice flavors include:

• 100% Purple Grape Juice

• White Grape and Pear Juice Drink

• White Grape and Peach Juice Drink

• Purple Grape and Raspberry Juice Drink

• Purple Grape and Black Currant Juice Drink

Each product was developed to meet the unique tastes' of the U.K. consumer. The product flavors are based on careful assessment of needs in the market place and extensive consumer testing. Both companies brought their expertise to product development and commercialization process, making this a true partneship effort.

We recently expanded the Welchito brand with the addition of new flavors and updated packaging. Welchito is now available in five fruit flavors including Grape, Fruit Punch, Orange-Pineapple, Mango-Passion Fruit and Strawberry Kiwi. Wechito is available in two single serve packaging formats the help address the consumers need for convenience.

Ongoing consumer research combined with our product development, packaging, quality and operations teams has resulted in another product success for Welch's and our consumers.
