Supply Chain Expertise

The resources to ensure success
Increase product visibility. Achieve real-time information flow. Leverage existing data resources. The challenges of today's global market are evident. The solutions are not.

As the traditional supply chain has extended at both ends, we have worked with customers to redefine roles and refine methods to more efficiently deliver product to our consumers. We collaborate on mutually beneficial solutions to decrease costs of the supply chain system.

Often that means expanding our role – reaching back to look for ways to help our suppliers maximize efficiency as they purchase and develop raw materials like resin for plastic bottles, or reaching forward to create more streamlined systems to keep fresh product on the retail shelves.

We’re sophisticated in the cutting-edge technologies and processes that are reshaping our industry. The knowledge and expertise we have developed serving U.S.based global accounts like Wal-Mart, Costco and Sam's can benefit our partners and customers around the world and help maximize supply chain efficiencies: to keep costs low, quality and service levels high.

Welch’s role in this extended supply chain can take many forms, depending on the requirements of each situation:

  • Collaborative Annual Planning

  • Category Management

  • Consumer Co-Marketing

  • Logistics Optimization

  • Committed Team Selling Resources

Welch’s has been recognized many times for its Supply Chain expertise. As Wal-Mart's "Supplier of the Year" in 1996, we were awarded for our responsiveness and effective collaboration in helping the global retailer satisfy its customers. In 1999, Welch’s was named "Best in Class" for the highest service at lowest cost in a leading grocery industry survey. Welch's has also received Wal-Mart's "Supplier of the Quarter" award in 2003 for excellence as a merchant.

Welch’s is an active participant in virtually all key industry initiatives related to the Supply Chain issues: Supplier-Managed Inventory (SMI), Collaborative Planning and Forecast Replenishment (CPFR), Efficient Consumer Response (ECR), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and more.
